Ethical Conduct & Gifts
Staff adhere to a strict code of ethical conduct and comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, which is the state statute that regulates ethical conduct, political activities, and the solicitation and acceptance of gifts by State officials and employees.
Gifts from participants: Employees shall not solicit gifts for personal enjoyment from participants, families of participants, or other caregivers. When a gift is given to an employee for his/her personal enjoyment by a participant, family member of a participant, or other caregiver and exceeds $25 in value, it shall be returned.
When a gift is given to a single employee for his/her personal enjoyment, by a participant, family member of a participant, or other caregiver and is $25 or less in value, the employee may accept it.
