Respect is a core value at Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association. Together, we can continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our participants, families, staff, volunteers and stakeholders. Embracing diversity in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity and perspective empowers staff to serve unique needs in innovative ways. At NSSRA, we believe that when people feel respected and included, they can be more creative, innovative and successful. We are committed to working with participants, families, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to continually learn, share and grow with us.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee was established in order to interact and cultivate ties throughout the community. The committee is dedicated to promote inclusion, diversity, and equity through the following methods:

• Model, encourage and ensure DEI initiatives are prioritized for all.
• Identify and provide educational opportunities to increase staff awareness and understanding of DEI topics.
• Communicate and discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion topics with staff.
