April 11, 2017: “It’s the place to go, the place to be,” declares the opening chorus of Bright Star Theatre’s latest production. The singers — special-needs students and their volunteer companions — are referring to Pat’s Luncheonette, the setting of the musical comedy “Shake With A Zombie,” but they could just as easily be singing about the theater itself. March 28, 2017: NSSRA will hold its annual Shining Stars Awards & Recognition Banquet on Friday, April 21 at the Highland Park Country Club. With nearly 350 participants, family members, staff, board members, supporters and partners expected to attend, the annual gathering gives NSSRA an opportunity to recognize those who have truly made a difference over the previous year. NSSRA Honored With Three Prestigious Awards at Illinois Park & Recreation Association Conference
February 1, 2017: IPRA presented NSSRA’s Camp Wigwam with the “Special Event of the Year Award” at their annual Conference Awards Luncheon on Friday, January 20. Additionally, the evening before NSSRA’s Mel Robson and ELA Fun Run event were honored by Illinois Therapeutic Recreation Section (ITRS) with the “Professional of the Year” and the “Special Event of the Year” awards, respectively.
