Big Top Boogie Event Lights Up Park Center with Joyful Celebration

Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) and friends boogied the night away as it hosted the much-anticipated winter carnival event, “Big Top Boogie,” at Park Center in Glenview. Around 100 enthusiastic participants with disabilities and their friends enjoyed an unforgettable evening of fun and entertainment.

The event, which took place at the Park Center, transformed into a lively carnival atmosphere, creating an inclusive space for individuals of all abilities to come together. Attendees, including members from NSSRA, Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation (M-NASR), and Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County (SRACLC), reveled in an evening of dancing, laughter, and carnival games, making it a joyous celebration for everyone involved.

Adding to the festivities, the event featured a variety of exciting activities:

  • Photo Booth: Attendees captured the moment with a themed photo booth, creating lasting memories.
  • Carnival Games: The event offered a diverse range of thrilling carnival games enhanced by a DJ.
  • Delightful Food: The night wouldn’t be complete without carnival favorites such as popcorn and nachos.

“The night was a delightful mix of music, dance, and carnival games, creating memories that all will cherish,” said Christian Guenther, a Recreation Specialist from NSSRA.

Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association provides and facilitates year-round recreation programs and services for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. The organization aims to create inclusive and accessible opportunities for individuals of all abilities to engage in recreational activities, fostering a sense of community and joy.
