Welcome Sally

We are pleased to announce we are adding a familiar face to our Recreation Specialist position overseeing adult programs, Sally Peterson!

Sally, an Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), brings a wealth of experience from her work in schools and clinical settings. Additionally, Sally is an avid outdoorswoman as she is a certified Forest Therapy Guide, a role she has passionately fulfilled at the Chicago Botanic Garden (and elsewhere) for the past six years in their education department.

Outside of work, Sally’s interests are as diverse as her professional qualifications. As a proud mother of three, she is deeply involved in her family’s activities, including supporting her son, a professional wrestler! You can also find Sally volunteering with the forest preserve, where she monitors Bluebirds in Berkley Prairie and cicada emergences in the nearby areas. Sally also finds joy in sailing, reading, and walking her dog, Molly, on local trails, who is overjoyed in hunting for cicadas.

Sally joined NSSRA this past fall as a program leader and has thoroughly enjoyed her experience. We are excited to have her embark on this full-time role and look forward to the vibrancy and expertise she will bring to our adult programs. Please join us in warmly welcoming Sally Peterson to the NSSRA team!
