Updated COVID-19 Guidelines

The Illinois Department of Public Health and Governor Pritzker have communicated that they plan to lift the statewide indoor mask mandate on Monday, February 28. NSSRA has followed guidelines from the federal, state, and local health departments throughout the pandemic and will continue to do so. Assuming the mandates are retracted on Monday, February 28, NSSRA will enact the following COVID-19 Guidelines.

Updated COVID-19 Guidelines

  • NSSRA will not require face masks at the Mitchell L. Slotnick Center or programs. Although not required, we ask for continued understanding and kindness to those who choose to wear a mask.
  • Masks will continue to be required on NSSRA Vehicles as required by federal CDC guidelines.
  • NSSRA will no longer require proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 participant assessment for NSSRA programs and overnight trips.*
  • NSSRA will no longer require proof of vaccination or weekly testing for employees.

NSSRA Will Continue to:

  • Support participants and staff who choose to wear masks even when not required.
  • Add capacity to programs as space and staffing is available. This may delay a participant’s start date as proper staffing is needed to ensure safe programming. NSSRA will pro-rate the program fee accordingly.
  • Work with partner agency staff to determine and implement needed program accommodations on an individualized basis for successful programming.

NSSRA will continue to monitor federal, state, and local health guidance to adjust guidelines as necessary.

*NSSRA will communicate with program locations as local businesses may have masking and vaccination requirements. Participants and staff attending these programs will need to abide by the location requirements. NSSRA staff will communicate masking and vaccination requirements to those registered for the program.
