Recreational Therapy Month Staff Spotlight – Koren Sharrar
As National Recreational Therapy month continues, we are excited to spotlight one of NSSRA’s newest Recreation Specialists, Koren Sharrar!
Koren is a recent graduate from Illinois State University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Koren found Therapeutic Recreation through working part-time at another Special Recreation Associations in the summers (we are hiring!). Koren quickly fell in love with the field and couldn’t see herself doing anything else! While Koren enjoys her free time, she loves to spend time with friends, explore the outdoors, and attempt new challenges!
Although Koren has only been with us for a short time, she has appreciated meeting and building relationships with each participant. She has also been making memories as the leader of the Broadway Bound program and relishes watching the participants become stars!
