Recreational Therapy Month Staff Spotlight – Candice “Kansas” Cunningham

As therapeutic recreation month comes to an end, we want to introduce you to Candice “Kansas” Cunningham.

Candice has been involved with NSSRA for 19 years and has touched the lives of many participants. You might find Candice enjoying the outdoors or biking with her family outside of work. Candice also enjoys walking to local shops and enjoying all the restaurants the area offers. Candice and her girls love making a mess in the kitchen!

We asked Candice about her favorite memory at NSSRA, and she stated that there were too many to remember! But she continued to reminisce on the numerous trips, especially camp Wigwam, which included enjoying the lake, sitting by the bonfire, and enjoying the outdoor activities and all of the camp songs! Candice also reflected on starting the ELA program and the joy it brings to watch it grow and move its home to the Mitchell L. Slotnick Center.

Thank you, Candice, for all your hard work and commitment to therapeutic recreation!
