Special education services coming to Takiff Center | Chicago Tribune

February 25, 2015: To make its programming available to a wider audience, the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association is on the verge of opening a second area location, this one in Glencoe. On Feb. 17 the Glencoe Park District unanimously agreed to enter into an "interagency cooperation agreement” with the Northbrook based-NSSRA to offer programming at the Park District's Takiff Center headquarters, which was the top target of the special services agency due to a combination of the center's amenities and location, officials said. New NSSRA Adult Day Program Finds A Home

February 19, 2015: Leisure In Full Effect (LIFE), a new adult day program for northern suburban residents with disabilities, is coming to Glencoe. This week both Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) Board of Directors and Glencoe Park District Board of Commissioners approved an Interagency Cooperation Agreement effectively making Glencoe’s Takiff Center the new home for NSSRA’s LIFE program. The agreement, passed by Glencoe on Tuesday, February 17 and NSSRA on Thursday, February 19, allows Glencoe Park District to license space for the program to NSSRA. Continue…

Special recreation group still searching for new home | Chicago Tribune

September 2, 2014: The Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association — also known as NSSRA — remains in the hunt for new headquarters after a promising option in Northbrook fell through recently. The organization, which provides recreation opportunities for people with disabilities in 10 park districts and three municipalities on the North Shore, announced last summer that it was looking for new digs.
