NSSRA Gators Win Gold at Special Olympics State Tournament
Highland Park, March 10, 2025 – It was a golden experience for the NSSRA Gator Black team at the Special Olympics State Tournament. After two hard-fought games against the Canton Crush Cosmos and the Harrison Blue Hawks, the Gator Black Team emerged victorious as Division One State Champions.
The firstmatchup was a close contest, with the Gators clinching a 42-40 victory. Both teams showed determination, making for an exciting and competitive game.
In the second game, the Gators focused on teamwork and passing, which helped them create scoring opportunities and build momentum. Their coordination on the court led to smart plays and a strong finish, sealing their gold medal championship win.
Coach Lacey Allen praised the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season. “They did amazing! They put in so much effort throughout the season, and it was apparent that they were giving it their all this weekend! I’m so proud of them and glad we ended the season strong!”
Luke Greenebaum and Jordan Becker were recognized for their sportsmanship, earning ribbons for their positive attitude and respect for the game. Their recognition reflects the team’s commitment to fair play and camaraderie.
