NSSRA Gators Volleyball Advances to State

It was a triumphant tournament for the NSSRA Gators Volleyball Teams at the Regional Special Olympics Tournament in Arlington Heights. After an afternoon of hard-fought games, the Gators Green Team captured gold and earned a spot at the State Championship at the Fall Games in Rockford this October. The Gators White Team also turned in an impressive performance, bringing home the silver medal.

The road to gold for the Gator Green Team was filled with excitement. In the final game, the Gators nearly clinched victory. Both sides played with determination and sportsmanship, but the Gators’ consistency at the net and strong teamwork carried them to the win.

Coach Sarah Hunter praised the Green Team’s effort, “They did a great job to really earn that as a team. Serves and returns were awesome,” Hunter also highlighted the achievements of the Gators White Team: “They did a fantastic job. Every athlete successfully made a serve at some point. Many athletes have improved tremendously throughout this season. I’m so proud of their hard work.”

The Gators’ accomplishments at Regionals are a proud moment for the NSSRA Gator athletes. Once again, the teams showed that with teamwork and heart, the Gators never give up. Their efforts embody the Special Olympics Oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
