Below are listed NSSRA partner communities who are ready to include you in
programs. NSSRA recognizes that some people with disabilities choose to participate
in park district or recreation department programs and/or day camps with people
without disabilities. To meet this need, NSSRA provides training, support staff
and assistance so Inclusive Recreation can be enjoyed by all (extra staff, sign
language interpreters, adapting rules and policies, behavior management support,
disability awareness training, etc.). To receive Inclusion support, register
for the desired partner park district program and mark the appropriate "Special
Accommodations" section of the registration form. NSSRA's Manager of Inclusion
will then be contacted by the district or department to discuss and put in place
the type of support needed. Observations and communication continues throughout
the process. For further information, call the Manager of Inclusion at (847)
509-9400. Registration
