Low Incidence Cooperative Agreement Extended Summer Program
The Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA), Low Incidence
Cooperative Agreement (LICA), the City of Evanston, Maine-Niles Assoc. of Special
Recreation (M-NASR), and Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) work
together to provide a six-week "extended year" summer program in June/July
for students in preschool through junior high who are deaf or hard of hearing,
currently enrolled in a LICA program, and for whom summer school has been recommended
as a result of the annual review. The program blends education and recreation
to meet the needs of each child, and is an extension of the IEP. Sports, games,
drama, recreational swimming, arts and crafts and more are included. For further
information, call the LICA Extended Year Program Coordinator (847) 509-9400. Or download the LICA 2005 brochure here: http://www.nssra.org/news/index.cfm?pg=pubs.cfm
