Additional Programs & Services
Outreach
NSSRA staff members are available to discuss the opportunities and benefits
of participation in NSSRA programs with current or new participants,
their families, therapists, school personnel, medical staff, or others. Our
staff members consult with families, staff at group homes, and adult participants
in regard to recreation options. NSSRA staff members help participants find
the best opportunities to meet their recreational needs and interests. We believe
that the role of our outreach staff is to make one part of a participant's life
a little easier. Our professional recreation staff members serve as coordinators
for certain groups of participants or for certain recreational areas.
NSSRA provides outreach services and receives referrals for individuals
with disabilities through various facilities including Glenkirk, NSSED,
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), Marianjoy Rehabilitation Center of
Glenview, Pathways, Stroke Clubs, Therapy Groups for Parkinson's, and Epilepsy
Services for Northeastern Illinois (ESNI) and others. [return

would benefit from our services, please contact the NSSRA Outreach Coordinator
at (847) 509-9400. [return to top]
Join Our PAC (Program Advisory Committee)
Our Program Advisory Committee (PAC) includes parents and adult participants
from NSSRA partner communities. PAC was formed in 1999 to provide information
and advice to our staff that will help improve our programs and services. If
you are a resident and interested in sharing your input with us on programs
and services, please contact the NSSRA Recreation Superintendent at (847) 509-9400.
